Autumn is around the corner

Bittersweet

Golden Apple

My favorite season is almost here. I love the sights and smells of that time of year. The sun is still warming the days but it's sweater weather at night. When the kids were little we always went to the apple orchard to pick bags and bags of apples. Time stood still when we were in the fields. Such sweet memories! What are your favorite memories of fall?

WOO! plus the air smells so nice with all the apples ripening. beautiful time of year. we're so lucky to live on this wonderful little rock so full of life and colour.

You should go pick apples again... doesn't matter if the kids are older now... ;)
I love that 'bittersweet' image!

Walking home from school with golden rays of sunshine around me and crunchy leaves under my feet - and the faint smell of someone burning leaves nearby . . . takes me back . . . love it!!!

It could stay autumn all year round, I love this weather so much! When I was little, my grandparents took me to pick out my very own pumpkin and to pick apples. The colors, the smells, the time spent with my wonderful g'parents are strong memories for me. Today, I went out back to my neighbor's apple tree and picked a bag of red delicious apples(I have their permission.) I washed a couple without worm holes (lol) for my husband and me. I so enjoyed that fresh apple taste.

Bonnie (Original Art Studio) stole my name and my memory:o) (Just kidding)... The smell in the air of a wood fire or burning leaves was the first thing I thought of. Gorgeous photos.

Ahh...the deafening noise of leaf mulchers, drowning out every other sound on the block for hours on end...the sneezing from all the swirling clouds of dust...the sharp pains in the back from raking and shovelling mounds of gumballs from the Sweet Gum Tree...I just love Fall!

Actually, I do...and we got rid of that stupid gumball tree...now I'll have more time to take walks with my wonderful wife!

Ladies, I love all your memories! I forgot about the smell of the burning leaves. It does take me back to my childhood.

I found your blog through one of the Blogs of Note and the first photo really drew me to it. It is stunning and truly encompassing the life and death during Autumn.

Halloween, pumpkin everything, etc. are the most distinct memories of fall for me.

Hi Cat Ludwig! Thanks for commenting on my photographs - the bird in question is a Robin Red Breast, which is quite common in England, although not as common as in years gone.....enjoying your site also....lots of great photos...!
